Airport Information
Monterey Regional Airport (MRY) is the closest airport as it is about a 5-15 min drive to most hotels in the area. However, it is a small regional airport so it can be more difficult to find the right itinerary. If you choose to fly into MRY, Ubers and Lyfts are generally available but you may have a longer wait, especially if you arrive late at night. MRY does options for rental cars, too, if you prefer that.
San Jose Mineta International Airport (SJC) is the closest international airport and is located about 1.5 hours from Monterey and Carmel. If you choose to fly into San Jose, there are a few options to get to Monterey and Carmel. You can rent a car, or you can book a shuttle through Groome Transportation, which will pick you up directly at SJC and bring you to downtown Monterey or Carmel, where you can catch a short Uber or Lyft to your hotel.
